Alastair Sandels takes over as the new FISA Chair
Alastair has over 30 years’ experience in the UK and international forestry industries. He served as Managing Director and latterly as Investment Director of Fountains Forestry, until 2016. He has managed contract operations within the forest and utility arboriculture sectors, ranging from timber harvesting; grounds maintenance to vegetation management.
Alastair continues to serve on the Executive Committee and Council of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. He has been a Director of FISA UK since March 2016 taking responsibility for leading on finance.
He has contributed regularly to the Learning & Behavioural Change Working Group and Steering Group in the three years since formation. He has direct experience of safety behavioural change and compliance processes from both a Board and operational perspective.
