Facial cuts after having been struck by branch - October 2015

EuroForest Safety Notice:

We have had a recent incident where a chainsaw operator has suffered facial cuts and bruising after being struck by a branch, or crushed understorey, which was under tension.

He had been snedding and breaking down the crown of a previously felled Poplar.

When working on the crowns of hardwoods or big trees the chance of this happening is increased.

Please take this notice as a reminder to take extra care and time when working in a situation like this.

Better to be slower and go home safe and sound.
