TERMS AND CONDITIONS

THE FOREST INDUSTRY STANDARD

Terms and Conditions

Members agree to support and develop the aspirations of the Forest Industry Safety Accord, and to improvements in the safety performance of the UK forestry sector. Members will look to promote the ‘everyman principle’ - that all in the forest industry will support the Accord.

Forest Industry Safety Accord (FISA) membership and its benefits are offered at the sole discretion of the Steering Group of FISA represented by its chair person.

Rules for use of the FISA trademark are under development.  Administrative support for membership of FISA is currently supplied by the Confederation of Forest Industries (UK) Ltd. Registered in Scotland No. SC34467. Registered Office: 59 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2JG.

Membership Eligibility and Fee. Membership of FISA is available to companies and individuals with an interest in improving health and safety performance in the UK forest industry. The membership fee is calculated by completion of an online form, and is payable on annual basis for a full 12 month period. Members’ fees are due in full at the start of the membership year, currently 1 October and moving to 1 May 2017 when all members will be invoiced for a full years subscription.

Membership Cancellation. The FISA steering group reserves the right to cancel any membership for reasons that include, but are not limited to: 1) violation of the rules for use of the FISA trademark (under development); 2) misrepresentation of FISA membership; 3) failure to pay the membership fee; 4) action, in any other way, to the detriment of FISA; all as may be determined by the FISA Steering Group in its sole discretion. At the sole discretion of the FISA Steering Group, and on exceptional basis, a refund of the membership fee may be paid.

Changes in Terms and Conditions. The FISA Steering Group reserve the right to change, limit, modify or cancel FISA membership Terms and Conditions, benefits, and conditions of participation.

Notice of Changes. Any such changes to these Terms and Conditions will be displayed on www.ukfisa.com and will be effective immediately unless stated otherwise.

Legal rights. Neither FISA membership nor any benefit offered by membership creates, constitutes or gives rise to any legal or contractual rights by members against the FISA Steering Group, its Directors, its chairman or the Confederation of Forest Industries.

Membership Interpretation. Interpretations of Membership Terms and Conditions shall be at the sole discretion of the FISA Steering Group. The FISA Steering Group reserves the right to add, modify, delete or otherwise change these Terms and Conditions or any rules related to Membership at its sole discretion, with or without notice and subject to local laws and regulations.
